So I’ve run into the addictive nature that is geotagging my Flickr pictures. Geotagging allows you to add a piece of information to the picture so that it knows where the picture was taken. It then takes those locaitons and plops them on a map. You can check out the 30 or so pictures I have geotagged here:

I’ll have every new iPhone picture automatically geotagged but as for the DSLR pictures I’ll have to do those manually

I’ve made the choice. Out of all of the apartments we went to visit I’ve decided on Wyntre Brooke. After a lot of thinking it came down to the floor plan. The way it’s arranged uses the space really well. It also some has nicer placement of rooms such as the bedroom. It’s far away from the door/entrances which will mean I won’t have the neighbors coming into their own apartment at 2am when they slam their door.
Some of the features it lacked was the better sound insulation on the walls/ceiling, lack of an assigned parking spot, and Wyntre Brooke allows dogs. Though when it came down to it, I might not have to deal with those problems every day. However, I will have to deal w/ the floor plan every single day.
I’ll have a video up when the move is underway.

So I’ve begun looking for apartments near Exton, Downingtown, and West Chester. This commute will end up being at most 10 miles one way instead of 42 miles like now. Plus I won’t have to spend $100/month on turnpike fees!
The transportation savings alone makes finding an apartment a good idea. But even more so is the commuting time. My current commute is about an hour one way. My new one will be at most 15-20 minutes one way.
That’s a pretty good incentive to move but the average rent costs are around $950-1100 for a 1 BR/1 Bath. Pretty steep but hopefully it will only be for 6-12 months.
I’m updating my pictures with the various places I’ve visited.

Cathy’s friend Molly got back from Australia on Monday and she brought back some gifts! One of them is a tshirt that had a tag that said Aussie made on it. As someone that’s never been outside the US I thought that was cool. Here’s a picture of it from Outback steak house of all places.

Here’s my first attempt to use the new wordpress iPhone app!
So yesterday Joe and I hit Victory Brewing Company. It was great there as always. I ended up having their Mad King Weiss first, Hop Wallop, then the Sunrise. Man I wish I brought my growlers to fill up!
Anyway happy birthday to Joe, here’s a picture of him from yesterday:

I haven’t been to my local Chick Fil A in a while but I stopped there today for lunch. I drove to the drive thru and an employee was walking toward my car holding a menu and a pad of paper. I figured the speaker must be broken so they were doing it manually but she told me that it’s their new “face to face” ordering. She then asked me if I needed to see the menu or if I already knew what I wanted.
After ordering she wrote down “CG” on a slip of paper and told me to take that to Tom around the corner. Tom took it from me and used his radio to confirm w/ the inside the price. He wrote $3.50 on the slip and gave it back and said to hand this to the cashier. I paid and drove away w/ my food.
I’m still not quite sure if I like this method of ordering. I guess they’re trying to recreate the “indoor” ordering experience at the drive thru. I’m more concerned about speed and accuracy of my order though. But I will say, the line did keep moving today so I have no complaints!
Plus their Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich rocks haha

And Apple *did* announce that ultra-portable along with the Mac Pro updates. The kicker? They aren’t shipping the Mac Pros for 3-5 weeks if you upgrade to the 8800 Video Card, which I want. So looks like I’ll tap into the Mac Pro fund and hopefully recoup it before they start shipping those Mac Pros.
I’m also going to pick up a 30″ Dell LCD Monitor to go along with it unless of course Apple updates their monitors. The nice thing about ordering an Apple monitor is that it’ll be covered under Applecare w/ the Mac Pro for free. It’s still not enough for me to buy the current model of Cinema Displays though.
Wish me luck in Vegas. I’m leaving Thursday from work and returning late Monday.

Looks like I have my plans for this weekend all set. I’ll be going down to Atlantic City, staying at the Borgata, from Friday til Sunday. This time around my girlfriend and family are coming down too. Should be a good time (as always) but especially because my aunt and uncle will be coming down.
I’m just glad it’s payday this Friday =P Wish us luck cause we’ll need it!

I have the reservations made. January 31st til Feb 4th. I was comped a “Premium Suite” over at the Rio. However I’m pretty sure that’s code name for “Strip View” suite. Nothing fancy like what I had over at Paris last time. But then again, the pink/red suite at the Paris was a bit much. Not like I spend a lot of time in the hotel room.
It’ll be good to get down to Vegas again but I’m going to have to tap into the money I’ve been holding for a new Mac Pro. Then again, I’ve heard more hype at an ultra-portable laptop being released at Macworld San Francisco than updated Mac Pros so maybe I won’t need the money in January anyway. Guess we’ll see.

Wednesday night was a good night! After work Joe & I stopped at Lorenzo’s in West Chester and picked up the largest hoagies I’ve ever seen in my life. The “small” is a 12″ hoagie that feels like it contains 2 to 3 lbs of meat. I was able to finish half of it but I didn’t even think about starting the second half.
After dinner we were waiting for Jay to wake up and get ready so we played a bit of Guitar Hero 3 and I took lots of pictures of the cats.
We arrived at the rink about an hour early and Joe ran into some people he knew that needed someone to play Goalie for their Lacrosse team. Joe agreed to play even though he’s never played before. Pictures of him can be found here.
Jay’s game started up and they didn’t have too much trouble beating the #1 ranked team in their league. They won it and their prize was a beer mug! Click below to see the pictures from the game.
